MEWS Seminars is an independent consulting firm based in Atlanta, Georgia. Founded in 1985 by Meg Kent, author, teacher, and former editor of her own publishing house, RB, Inc., the company began as an effort to address the growing corporate need for customized instruction in writing skills — thus the name, which is an acronym for More Effective Writing Skills.

MEWS soon expanded to include both written and oral communications, with a special focus on providing customized training and support for large customer correspondence areas and call centers in the nation's medical and insurance arena. Today, MEWS clients are among the top corporations in both fields, many of whom have worked with the firm since its inception. Among the customized programs offered by MEWS are The Grammar Sleuth™ and TeleTraining/2000, both of which have been delivered nationwide. In 1994, MEWS added an Executive Coaching Division, which provides individual coaching in written and oral communication skills.
